Edward Potts, I was born in 1944 and lived in Coanwood Gardens, the church school possibly refers to the first year that was held in the Methodist Chapel, after which the old army camp was used until the Infants/ junior schools were built. If you didn't go to Gateshead Grammer or The Central ? , the choice was Kelvin Grove or Brighton Avenue Boys School, hope this helps/

I lived in Pinewood Gardens and remember Jennifer, Maurice and Kenny Bell. I was interested to see that Jennifer still lives in South Africa. After living in Ireland, Canada and Germany I'm now in Salisbury (England). Would be great to hear from Jennifer (if she remembers me!)

Hi, i am looking for anyone who might remember my father. His name was Brian Potts born 1943. He lived at 38 Firwood Gardens. I dont know how long he was there for. He said he went to Church School first? Then Kelvin Grove Juniors. I have looked on Google of course but can't work if that would now be the All Saints Churth pre school? And the Kelvin Grove seems a bit further away from Lobley Hill. Anyone?
We're arriving friday 14th july 2017 for three weeks. Looking forward to having a couple of pints in the old Lobley Hill club, can't remember the new name for it. might even see some recognizable faces.

Hi Lynsey, I remember you when I came to stay with my grand parents, Joe and Masie Conboy who lived at 101 Rothbury Gardens. My family moved to Canada in 1964 and I lost touch with the friends I knew in the early 1960's. I would love to hear from you and what you know of the kids we knew.

Have just found this site I used to live at 196 Rothbury Gdns my maiden name was Hill going through this site I remember so many happy times as a child and teenager.When we come to visit the north east I always like to drive round Lobley Hill.

Was browsing around lobley hill site and found your name new who you were right away although it must be 60 years since i last saw you. Iam Tom Dyson daughter brother to your mam read that your mam and dad have passed away as has my dad mum is still alive age 93 and doing fine.Do you have any family information about nana and grandpa Dyson we know very little of were they come from or any of there life I believe he may have come from yorkshire but thats about it and she had a sister called kate.Alan my youngest brother had his DNA done at york univercity and it seems all Dysons were decendents of cattle russlers interesting if you go on line you you can see the report about 1100 dyson men were in the survey take care best wishes gene Dobson [Dyson]

Hi Pete. My name is Bill Baty, my father was the local chiropodist in Lobley Hill for many years and we moved there from Gateshead when the council houses were first built in 1958. I spent most of my youth in Lobley Hill, seen the Youth Club created, the Library, the pit closed; had my first legal pint on my 18th in the Norwood. I married a Lobley Hill girl, Pauline Lynch, who went to St. John Fisher School (now Emmanuel College). I now live in Whickham and have been involved in youth football with Whickham Fellside Youth Football Club, based in Watergate Park, Lobley Hill. I have great memories of the area, my brother still lives there and I have lots of friends there as well. I have provided some photos to the Lobley Hill website from my schooldays.
