I moved to Coanwood gds in 1948 and left in 1959, i attended infants at the Methodist Chapel before moving up to the old Juniors which at the time was in the old Army camp( behind where the library is now. I then moved to the then brand new school for two years before leaving to attend Brighton Avenue Boys School. After serving an apprenticeship at Parsons of Wallsend i then went to sea with the Merchant Navy. After marrying i then moved to Ouston and then through work i ended up just outside Durham City . I took redundancy and early retirement in 2005, we've been married 43years, have two sons and a daughter who have between them presented us with 8 grand children. |

About Me
My grand parents, Joe and Masie Conboy lived at 101 Rothbury Gardens until 1964. I would stay with them on weekends and holidays until 1964 when my family moved to a Canada. I have returned to England many times and have walked Rothbury Gardens wondering what became of the friends I had in the early 1960's. |

About Me
Lived in Pinewood Gardens from 1953 until I got married in 1975. Attended Lobley Hill infants and junior schools from 1958 until 1965 then on to the Boy's Grammar from 1965 until 1970. We emmigrated to Canada in 1980 and have been living here in Edmonton , Alberta, for 35 years now. Come back to visit family every so often, last visit was August 2017 and enjoyed every minute of it. |

Hi my name is Ray Sharp, I lived in lobley Hill at 5 Greenwood Gardens from the age of 5 till i married at age 27 then i moved to dunston, I went to lobley hill primary and then Hill Head. I loved living in Lobley hill then because everyone knew everyone. I now live in Perth Western Australia, where i have lived for the last 29 years and came back to Lobley Hill last year and i still love the place, i liked it that much i am coming back this year for 4 weeks june/july . i love your site and its great to see some old photos keep up the good work regards Ray
