the sign is Bushells ( fruit and Veg) and it belong to my granddad from there no 3 all the way down to no.7 he owned. the old farm house no.5 was a cow shed before it was converted into house I was born in no. 4. all the front gardens used to have iron railings but were removed for the war effort.

I think that there was a dentist's office down at the bottom of the bank. Jameson's perhaps?

Hi. The building on the left with the sign on it - please could you let me know what it says, please?

Thank you!
Yep George it was Bushell's , I remember it as a fruit and vegetable shop, it was or had been an old farm building I think. Can't remember what the sign said but the shop went on to become a betting shop when they were legalised, somebody called Innes I think was the bookie! I could tell you where we put our bets in before then but I don't want to get anyone into trouble! The shop on the corner of Chiltern we used to call Manilaws or something like that, of course it changed hands several times, we used to catch the 'Scholars ' bus to the Central School right outside, that's when I went and didn't succumb to temptation to play the wag and take off along the Coach Road to Ravensworth!
