I used to live in the little cottage to the right of the sign, sadly it was demolished to make way for the by-pass but it still lives on, the chimney stack went to Beamish Museum

the garage on the right was along past the cottage was run by the Deighton brothers who also had a removal business
i remember playing in the woods to the right of this picture along from the garage along the the coach rd
at the bottom of elmwood gardens
