The area is 'Old English' and comes from the old English 'lobb' a slope and 'leah' a wood = Lobley (modern spelling). a wooded hill. I hope this helps.

hi to anyone who maybe able to help me find out more about lobley hill... just found our recently that the hill was named after a local counsler.. he was meant to my mum;s great great granddad ..anyone know anything relating to this please could you let me know .hoping to take my mum up next year bless her ...
