About Me
I lived in Bywell Gardens from about 1949 until 1952 and attended Lobley Hill "army camp School", leaving in 1951 to go to Beaconsfield School Low Fell. My twin brother Peter went to Gateshead Tech. Our teacher at the primary school was George Bailey. Someone may remember him as he later went on to be a sports radio reporter and ofter reported on NUFC games. The photo is of Lobley Hill Cubs . MY father was Arkela, and is in the photo with Mr Rice who also helped. I remember some kids in my street, the Hendersons who, I think lived next door, and Raymond Griffiths who lived opposite. Our best friend was John Dean who lived in Rothbury Gardens. He became a life long friend. In the cubs, I remember John Dean, John Morton and Mr Rice's son. At school, I also remember two girls, Isobel and Miriam. We moved to Lemington in about 1952 so lost contact with Lobley Hill. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text.
