About Me
Hi, I was born in Gateshead, but now live in Canada. My grandparents lived at 34 Scafell Gdns in Lobley Hill from about 1956 until about 1998 when they too moved to Canada. They were George and Ivy Gordon, and had son David Gordon and daughter Patricia Gordon. My Granda grew prizewinning leeks in his greenhouse in Lobley Hill, and worked at Huwoods. My mam worked at Broughs years agoI I enjoy working on genealogy, and work with special needs students. I love the photos on your site! Just to add Janet, I've just looked at your profile and see you live in Toronto. My sisters Marion Norman and Catherine Goodmurphy, both nee Hazeldine of course, live in London Ontario, We all grew up in Lobley Hill. Cath is an enthusiastic Facebooker, they probably know lots more than me, I've never bothered with family history, good luck with your research. Rob.
Hi Janet...I'm pretty sure that I knew your grandparents...They certainly knew my Mom and Dad,they lived at 55 Malvern....I remember them telling me about the Gordons going to Canada....I was already here,I left England in 77,and my wife and I are retired in OK Falls,BC....Small world...;0)
