Here's a long shot. Did you know a guy at the Journal by name of Gary Weiss? Not sure what he did there but he was on the production floor somewhere.
I retired in a previous round of layoffs,almost 3 years ago,but was hired back part time the very next day.....
I worked almost to the end at Eastgate...Sad,really,as hundreds were laid off,including all the guys I had worked with for the last 24 years.... Newspapers are a dying industry..... I feel bad about your rotten winter,but glad to be not there.....We have maybe an inch of snow,and it warms up to 0 or above,most days....
Dave good to hear from you. I guess you retired from the Capilano area plant before they moved it to St Albert. I know what you mean about these darn prairie winters, this one is a killer 35 inches of snow from Nov to end Dec. Oh well maybe one day I'll win the 6-49 and retire to Bc as well. Gan canny, Peter
